Haami says he loves this book because it’s such a good joke. The joke is that Olive – who is a dog – thinks that when people sing the line from Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer that goes, all of the other reindeer they are singing Olive the other reindeer and so she starts thinking she’s a reindeer, not a dog…Mr D says it’s like the bit in The same old story every year where Timothy thinks Joseph is a car-painter, not a carpenter…

Mr Dickens Hits Town

Ms Love awarded this book to Haami because he wrote such a good story about the life and sad death of cicadas. Haami says this story is about Charles Dickens who was the first superstar author to tour another country. He went from England to North America and read his stories to huge audiences. He had heaps of fans, apparently - he was like a rock star or Peter Jackson. This story is about Charles Dickens coming to Montreal (in Canada) but it is also a love story and a family story. Haami says it is funny and the pictures are very good.
